About the Client

A privately owned business that has been growing in recent years and is now looking to expand the finance team by adding the new position of a Part Time Purchase Ledger Clerk in a varied role that will only grow with time with opportunity to become permanent following a Fixed Term Contract period. Working closely with the Finance Manager, this role is open to those with a keen interest to break into finance and attitude to learn and add value with everything they do. With a supportive Finance Manager, there is possibility for hybrid working following completion of training period as well as flexible timing to suit personal and business requirements. Based in easily commutable offices in Atherton, with access to public transport and motorways this opportunity is ideal for anyone located in or around Bolton, Leigh and Wigan.

About the Role

The key responsibilities of the Part Time Purchase Ledger Clerk will be:

  • Matching and coding a high volume of invoices on a daily basis
  • Ensure that supplier statements are reconciled accordingly, production of regular reporting
  • Working with internal departments to raise PO’s and manage sign-offs
  • Daily bank reconciliations across multiple banks
  • Management of company credit cards and ensuring aged credit is kept up to date
  • Ad-hoc and various finance duties as required by Line Manager

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant for the Part Time Purchase Ledger Clerk role will:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or a desire for a career in finance
  • AAT qualified or actively studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA
  • Experienced in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel (Sage preferred)
  • Excellent numerical skills and communication, both written and verbally
  • Any experience in the engineering, manufacturing or construction industry will be preferred
