Working with a fast-growing SME business in the Leisure & Hospitality sector located near Manchester Airport. In a newly created role, they are now looking for a Finance Manager who is able to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in to all aspects of finance whilst working closely with the MD to improve systems and processes. In an easily commutable location near to Manchester Airport, the role is suitable for anyone that can drive to site from south Manchester or the surrounding areas.

The Key Duties for the role of Finance Manager are:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and reports, providing financial analysis and insight to support decision making
  • Conducting financial analysis to identify trends and patterns that could impact the company’s financial performance, and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Developing and maintaining financial models to support forecasting and budgeting activities, and regularly updating these models based on actual performance
  • Supporting the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop realistic budgets that support the achievement of business goals
  • Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes to streamline financial operations
  • Managing relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors, banks, and tax authorities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards
  • Reviewing and improving existing financial processes to increase efficiency and accuracy, and implementing new processes as needed
  • Managing credit control and ensuring timely receipt of payments from customers
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices and issuing payments
  • Maintaining the trial balance and preparing monthly reconciliations
  • Managing the VAT returns process and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards
  • Supporting the preparation of financial reports for the board of directors and senior management team
  • Processing monthly payroll and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
  • Managing and developing a small finance team, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.

The ideal candidate for the role of Finance Manager will:

  • Be Part qualified/newly qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with some experience in a similar role or be AAT Qualified.
  • Have strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel and ideally Xero (or other accounting software)
  • Must have access to a car and be able to drive to the site
