An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Controller to join our finance team on a 12-month contract to cover maternity leave. This role is vital in ensuring the financial stability of our operations through effective credit control and sales ledger management.
Key Responsibilities for Credit Controller:
– Managing customer ledgers to secure timely payments.
– Initiating contact with customers to chase payments through calls and emails (primary).
– Processing invoices, handling credit requests, and conducting account reconciliations within agreed service levels.
– Liaising with various departments to resolve payment issues and enhance client satisfaction.
– Regular reporting on debtor status and cash flow to the Finance Manager.
– Keeping accurate records in our systems related to VAT codes, payment terms, and customer comments.
– Evaluating new and existing customers’ creditworthiness and updating records as necessary.
Ideal Candidate Profile for Credit Controller:
– Demonstrable experience in B2B credit control.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a persuasive nature.
– A problem-solving mindset with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
– Good IT skills, particularly in Excel for financial reporting and reconciliation.
– Previous experience in the property sector or with contractor payments would be highly regarded.
– Familiarity with accounting software
