This role for an Accounts Assistant has been created to take on responsibilities combining sales ledger and management accounting to ensure there is ample opportunity for growth and support through studies. The Accounts Assistant role is planned to be a 50/50 split. With free parking on site, the role is ideal for anyone located in North Manchester, Oldham or the surrounding area with easy access to the M60.

Job Description:

Day to Day responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant role will be responsible for:

  • Raising and uploading sales invoices into the finance system (Sage 50)
  • Allocating cash payments and ensuring receipts are banked properly
  • Managing the sales ledger month end process
  • Liaising directly with customers on billing queries
  • Raising and posting of credit notes as needed
  • Setting up new customer accounts and performing credit check reports
  • Working to collect aged debt and collecting payments from clients on a timely basis
  • Generating reports on debt and outstanding invoices for analysis
  • Preparing and posting journals
  • Assisting with weekly payment runs
  • Cashflow forecasting and reporting
  • Assisting with month end calculations
  • Production of Monthly Management Information Packs

The Successful Applicant:

The successful candidate for the role of Accounts Assistant will:

  • Have previous experience in a similar position
  • Proven experience in a sales ledger/credit control position
  • Be AAT qualified or actively studying (AAT. ACCA. CIMA)
  • Desire to progress a career in Finance and complete studies
  • Confident in using finance systems (Sage 50) and able to use Excel (VLookups, Pivot Tables)
  • Able to work independently and as part of a larger finance team
  • Ability to prioritise workload across Sales Ledger/Management Accounting
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
