About the Client:

A growing regional professional services business that is focussed on the development of their staff and fosters a strong culture. Internal progression is highly promoted with a majority of partners having been trained and qualified at the firm, that is now looking to grow their Manchester based team with a mixture of Accounts and Audit members. Focussed primarily on working with Owner Managed Businesses and SME’s they provide a range of services to their clients ranging from preparation of accounts, tax advice and other professional services. With fantastic centrally located offices and hybrid working available they are a forward thinking and supportive business.

About the Role:

The role of Accounts Assistant – AAT Qualified will:

  • Preparation of Statutory accounts for a variety of clients ranging from OMB/SMEs and sole traders
  • Production of Management Accounts for clients
  • Preparation of corporation and personal tax
  • Monthly/Quarterly VAT returns on behalf of clients and submissions to HMRC
  • Getting involved in Audits, from preparation through to review
  • Working across different service lines within the Practice including Accounts, VAT, Payroll, Tax
  • Analysis of prepared financial statements to identify tax saving potential for clients
  • Increasing role in line with training and development
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required by Line Manager

The Successful Candidate:

The successful candidate for the role of Accounts Assistant – AAT Qualified will:

  • Have previous experience in an Accounts role (Practice preferred)
  • Be AAT Qualified or studying for AAT qualifications)
  • Be confident in using accounting software and proficient with Excel
  • Desire to become qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and pursue a career in finance
  • Have fantastic organisational skills and ability to prioritise and manage workload
  • Good timekeeping skills
  • Be able to reliably commute to office or client site (Ability to drive preferred)
