About the Client

A privately owned business that has been growing in recent years and is now looking to expand the finance team by adding the new position of a Purchase Ledger Clerk in a varied role that will only grow with time. Based in the modern office in Altrincham, this role will report directly to the Finance Manager, offering fantastic exposure for the right candidate in a successful business that is primed to grow further. Conveniently located in a business park, there is free parking on-site and is easily commutable for anyone living in Altrincham, South Manchester or the surrounding areas.

About the Role

The key responsibilities of the Purchase Ledger Clerk will be:

• Matching and coding a high volume of invoices on a daily basis in line with SLA and customer agreements
• Understanding and accurately controlling the framework for each of the active accounts
• Ensure that supplier statements are reconciled accordingly, production of regular reporting
• Working with internal departments to raise PO’s and manage sign-offs
• Daily bank reconciliations across multiple banks
• Management of company credit cards and ensuring aged credit is kept up to date
• Assisting the Finance Manager with VAT reverse charges and CIS schemes
• Ad-hoc and various finance duties as required by Line Manager

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant for the Purchase Ledger Clerk role will:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• AAT qualified or actively studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA
• Keen to develop a career in Finance
• Experienced in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel (Sage preferred)
• Excellent numerical skills and communication, both written and verbally
• Any experience in the engineering, manufacturing or construction industry will be preferred
