A growing Financial Services SME that is taking on new clients both in the local and international market and is renowned for their excellent business support and services. There is a requirement for an immediate starter in the accounting function for an Assistant Accountant – Maternity Cover to join on an initial 12 month contract which will have opportunity to become permanent with forecasted growth. Job Description:

The role of Assistant Accountant – Maternity Cover requires someone who is able to hit the ground running and be comfortable in a fast paced environment taking on responsibility for allocated work.

The responsibilities of the role will include:

• Processing of transaction and posting journals through the use of Sage 50 system
• Reconciliation of intercompany recharge invoices
• Responsibility for prepayments, accruals
• Sales and intercompany recharges
• Maintaining the invoice register including unmatched invoices
• Making sure appropriate authorisation has been obtained for invoices
• Managing queries from internal and external stakeholders
• Processing staff expenses including credit cards and mileage
• Preparing and reviewing daily payments and creation of reports
• Maintaining administrative control of the ledger to ensure compliance in line with audit and established protocols
• Maintaining relationships with bankers, auditors and other external partners
• Ad-hoc tasks as required by Line Manager

The Successful Applicant:

The successful applicant for the role of Assistant Accountant – Maternity Cover will have:

• Previous experience in a purchase ledger role or finance assistant role
• Be immediately available or able to start on a short notice period
• Confident in using Microsoft products and accounting software (Sage preferred)
• Strong communicator both written and verbally
• Be detail orientated
